Beinn Resipole

At 845 metres (2,775 feet) Beinn Resipole is the highest peak on Ardnamurchan

It is classed as a Corbett, the term for mountains between 2,500 and 3,000 feet

There are two main routes to the summit of Beinn Resipole, one from the West from Resipole Campsite and one from the East which is accessible from Longrigg Road, by The Bield.

The climb takes about 3 hours so the total trip is about 7 hours for the return journey. From Longrigg Road the lower half of the climb follows a well defined track along the ancient coffin route which leads eventually to the burial isle on Loch Sheil. The upper section of the climb is over rough moorland with some rocky scrambles near the top.

The views on the way up, and especially from the top really are breathtaking. You can see from Ben Nevis to the Western Isles, from Skye to Mull and Morvern

The pictures above were taken in April. During the entire climb I passed just one other person in 7 hours!
